There’s a lot to do when you move, and it can be difficult to remember everything. When moving to a new home, there are many individuals, offices, agencies, and groups that need to be informed of the change. While changing your address with the U.S. Postal Service is very important, the USPS will only ensure that mail is forwarded from your old address to your new address for up to one year after you move (and only 60 days for newspapers and periodicals). While this can be a handy way to cut down on junk mail…there are many things you will want – and need – to receive in the mail at your new home.

As soon as you decide to move, contact Bisson for a free quote, and also pay attention to your mail. Start a list of everything you want to continue getting, like newsletters, catalogs, flyers, etc. Feel free to add them to the checklist we have assembled for your peace of mind!

While not everything on this list will apply to you, you can use it as a convenient tool to review and check off those you need to inform of your change of address. Click here for a printable change of address checklist or keep reading for the details.
